RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is expanding and looking to hire an Assistant Controller in Princeton, NJ. This Company offers a hybrid work environment and excellent benefits. This role will be reporting to the Controller.Summary:As an Assistant Controller, you will lead the accounting operations of the organization, including the production of financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and oversight of internal controls.Duties:

• Direct the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the departments goals and objectives
• Manage all aspects of the monthly and year-end accounting close (including general ledger, project accounting, fixed assets/capitalized software)
• Oversee the supplier payment function, in collaboration with corporate procurement, to ensure the integrity of the procure to payment process
• Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Billing functions
• Direct accounting for government contracts, including Federal Overhead submissions and Single Audit reporting in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Uniform Guidance
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses; Perform financial flux analysis
• Gather and report key performance indicators for accounting group and coordinate results with service provider organization
• Issue timely and complete financial statements and assist with the preparation of the annual report
• Establish processes that enable multiple ERP systems to communicate properly with a global consolidation tool by workday five, lead controllership activities for global ERP implementation
• Establish and maintain internal controls in respect of segregation of duties, transaction approvals and safeguarding assets
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
• Evaluate Risks & Opportunities and proactively communicate them

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA is preferred
• CPA and/or CMA
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance
• Prior supervisory experience
• Experience with onshore and offshore financial operations and reporting requirements
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
• Solid knowledge of accounting processes and internal controls
• Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Federal Cost Accounting Standards and Uniform Guidance
• Knowledge of tax compliance in areas of responsibility (W9s, 1099s, sales tax)
• Proficient in data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
• Proficient in MS Office (Advanced Excel Skills), Alteryx, and ERP systems
