Position Summary

Position Summary
The Carlyle Global Capital Markets ("CGCM") team works with the Carlyle Private Equity and Global Credit deal teams to provide advisory, structuring, underwriting, and distribution services on publicly syndicated and privately placed loan and equity financings for existing portfolio businesses and new acquisitions. The Analyst position will be focused on Global Credit. The individual will help evaluate, structure, and distribute Global Credit financings via co-invest and third-party relationships.

Primary responsibilities will include supporting CGCM senior team members and Global Credit deal teams in processing and analyzing new deals, managing approval processes and key aspects of the distribution process, maintaining investor and market data tracking, and being a source for comparable deal analysis and market intelligence to the broader firm. In addition, the Analyst will assist in monitoring, managing reporting and maintaining analytics related to all functions of the business segment in conjunction with broader CGCM relationship development efforts among co-investors, third parties, and intermediaries.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate primary financing opportunities with a focus on determining marketable deal capital structures and suitable investor bases
  • Support the team in all aspects of the syndication process, including generating marketing materials, maintaining data rooms for prospective investors, and coordinating due diligence
  • Lead the creation of approval memos for any underwriting or placement activity directly with senior team members
  • Act as central point of contact to maintain all investor feedback and centrally track to manage ongoing relationship development efforts for the firm
  • Create and maintain database of proprietary debt comps and analytics, including new public and private loan issuance, for internal usage among deal teams and CGCM seniors
  • Interface with origination, underwriting, portfolio management, investor relations, and other internal partners to coordinate execution of transactions and effectively meet deal timelines
  • Lead the generation and distribution of weekly, monthly, and quarterly capital markets updates for Global Credit
  • Manage responses for day-to-day information requests from both internal and external parties
  • Assist with legal and compliance requirements, including clearing conflicts and adhering to criteria for new deal eligibility, managing NDAs and NRLs with sponsor clients and investors, and managing risk reporting
  • Keep awareness and knowledge of up-to-date market information in both public and private financing markets
  • Generate periodic competitive analysis used for internal consumption, and investor due diligence in coordination with investor relations
  • Develop to be a key point of contact with the ability to assess a given transaction, identify initial key attributes and issues and effectively communicate the opportunity to prospective investors


Qualifications

Requirements
Education & Certificates
  • Bachelor's degree is required with strong academic record

Professional Experience
  • Candidates should have one year of relevant experience in the financial services industry, ideally leveraged finance or capital markets
  • Credit background and/or formal training preferred
