The primary role of this position will be to design, develop and support large-scale, mission-critical, multi-site web applications using several modern web technologies like React, NodeJS, VUE, BOOTSTRAP, etc.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Functions as Software Developer for multiple, complex applications utilizing demonstrated ability to deliver technical solutions to the problems and challenges inherent in related projects.
  • Will be involved in all phases of project life cycle, assisting in the technical design, coding, implementation, and maintenance of the assigned systems.
  • Works with the project team, which includes users and analysts, to develop technical solutions which integrate with the current systems.
  • Develops project related technical work plans, including technical specifications, delivery schedules, and ensures adherence.
  • Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions across technologies to tie together existing systems and tools.
  • Lead code/design reviews with team to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate planning.
  • Investigates and resolves complex technical problems and production issues by troubleshooting and providing end-to-end solutions.
  • Mentors' engineers, coach engineers on design, development, and maintenance of systems; Review teammates' code
  • Influence architecture, quality standards and understand, identify, measure across entire solution
  • Collaborates with other Digital staff (Marketing, Operations, Network Services, Information Security, etc.) to provide inter-disciplinary technical solutions.
  • Collaborates with the team to maintain internal documentation for new and existing applications.
  • Participate in the groups on-call rotation for support.
  • Must be a self-starter and stay current on emerging technologies in the industry.

Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands on experience with Java development highly required.
  • Experience in Java Content Repository (API) suite, Sling web framework and Apache Felix OSGi framework, DAM, Workflows is required.
  • At least 6 years of development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding, with a minimum of 3-4 years of Adobe AEM experience implementing full cycle Adobe AEM projects (AEM Cloud is a plus).
  • Solid experience with AEM building blocks including templates, components, dialogs, widgets and bundles.
  • Experience with building tools like ANT, Maven and Gradle.
  • Proficient in using IDE Tools like Eclipse and/or IntelliJ and/or Visual Studio Code desired.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies, HTML, CSS, angular and JavaScript experience is plus, should have the aptitude to learn front-end development.
  • Ability to work quickly in an agile environment, part of an on-call rotation duty among other engineers.
  • Experience with GIT, Jira and similar Software configuration tools. Participate in Continuous Integration or Continuous Delivery pipeline.
  • Experience and Understanding of multithreaded software design.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
  • Adobe Experience Manager Developer Certification a plus.
  • Experience with AEM Forms.
  • Experience with Salesforce development a plus.
  • Understanding of distributed web application development concepts and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience developing large-scale applications using modern frameworks like React, Bootstrap, etc.
  • Exposure to systems analysis, application design and testing. Ability to write clear technical documentation.
  • Able to act independently or under very general direction.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with others with different skill sets, backgrounds and levels within and external to the organization.
  • Desire to learn and stay updated on emerging technologies and trends.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • No direct reports; may provide guidance to less seasoned and new staff

Fiscal Responsibility:
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively using Mass General Brigham resources

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • Remote role, optional occasional local travel to MGB sites, vendors, and/or conferences
  • Hospital work environment working conditions include possible exposure to diseases or infections and may require safety gear (PPE) such as gloves and mask.
  • Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear; use hands to finger; handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop; kneel; or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
