RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Fairfax, VA.Essential Functions:- Accounts Payable Specialist will process invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to organizational policies and procedures
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to verify receipt of goods or services
- Code invoices with appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers
- Prepare and perform check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers in a timely manner
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies in a proactive manner
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain vendor files and ensure compliance with 1099 reporting requirements
- As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment issues
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline accounts payable processes and improve efficiency
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions
- Experience with Solomon software is highly preferred
- Prior experience in a non-profit organization is a plus, but not required
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
