Basic Job Functions:

• Timely, accurate, reliable processing of all accounts payable transactions
• Match receivers, invoices and purchase orders daily
• Maintain a file of unmatched receivers, invoices, and purchase orders. Follow up with Purchasing on any items that age beyond one week, two days for discount vendors
• Verify the accuracy of the invoice, purchase order and receiver, enter the invoice into the accounting software for payment,follow upon any discrepancies
• Make sure all discounts are taken within terms
• Run checks according to schedule specified by Corporate
• Transmit list of checks or ACH deposits written to bank for Positive Pay verification
• Check with bank daily via internet connection for checks presented for payment but not matching the list transmitted for Positive Pay
• Maintain complete files for paid vendor invoices
• Perform daily balancing and reconciliation of AP system
• Prepare month-end journal entries for each monthly closing,verify the balance of the accounts payable aging's to the A/P general ledger accounts
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• One year of corporate accounts payable experience
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• Prior accounting/financial experience in manufacturing environment
