Compensation Range
Hourly: $20.00 - $20.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

Capital for Business is a Commerce affiliate that identifies, invests in and monitors a portfolio of private company investments. The intern will support the Capital For Business team by assisting with analyzing private company business plans, updating financial information and assimilating market research.

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week
  
• Hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  
• Location: St. Louis, MO
  

Essential Functions

• Contribute to evaluating the merits and risks of prospective investments in private companies
  
• Gather and analyze company and market information from public sources to help inform our decision-making process.
  
• Maintain new opportunity pipeline in our customer relationship management system
  
• Update financial information for current and prospective investments
  
• Perform ad-hoc support and other duties as needed
  

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required

• Working knowledge of accounting and finance
  
• Ability to take initiative and meet tight deadlines
  
• Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  
• Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  
• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  
• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Salesforce
  

Education & Experience

• Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in a Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  
• 1+ year related experience preferred
