Description
Hiring for 10 and 11 month positions. The Management Section of the Wildlife Division is primarily responsible for implementation of habitat development and restoration efforts on public Wildlife Management Areas and conducting wildlife population surveys along with disease and depredation response.

Examples of Work
Assist with prescribed burning, ground preparation and plantings, weed control, repair and maintain equipment, be a team leader, mix and apply chemicals, word processing, age and check deer, perform wildlife surveys, handle depredation response, public relations, oversee contractors and assist with wildlife disease investigations. Possible non-traditional work week hours and some weekends.

Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: 15 semester hours or the equivalent of post high school coursework/training in fisheries management, wildlife management, natural resources and/or biology and 12 months experience in wildlife, recreation, or fisheries management. Driver's license required.

PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in wildlife, fisheries, natural resources or biology. Applicants with Pesticide Applicators license and Class A CDL license with O endorsement preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and ability to operate tractors, All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's), chainsaws, and other farm equipment; knowledge of wildlife management principles. Computer skills highly desirable (MS Word, Access, Excel).
