Monitors heart rhythm patterns of patients to detect abnormal pattern or rate variances, using telemetry equipment; reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm and rate pattern, current pattern and rate and prior variances; observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm and rate; informs nurse of variances to initiate examination of patient; initiates EMS if necessary; measures length and height of patient's heart rhythm pattern on graphic tape readout, using calipers, and post information on patient records; answers inquiries concerning patients from medical staff; performs other unit tasks; obtains patient vital signs by using appropriate monitoring devices; charts vitals for patients in the electronic medical record; informs nursing staff regarding abnormal vitals so that they can be addressed; may distribute food trays and/or water to patients as appropriate; stocks supply carts; removes soiled linen bags and/or patient food trays; distributes linen to patient rooms; may perform clerical support functions in an assigned inpatient unit of the organization as needed.


Currently in a BSN program for Nursing
Experience as a telemetry technician
Ability to interpret ECG tracings
