Role overview

Our business is rapidly transforming as we innovate to deliver AI-driven analytics and decision tools that help our customers make better business decisions. We are seeking a thoughtful, analytical, and execution-oriented strategy professional to help accelerate this transformation.

The Strategy Manager/Associate collaborates closely with our Senior Leadership Team to achieve Nexis Solutions' revenue and profitability goals and to maintain and enhance its industry leading position. Responsibilities include providing high quality timely analysis and informed strategic and operational recommendations on content licensing, product innovation, go-to-market tactics, and M&A. We work in a collaborative and supportive culture and require the role holder to be a strong team player who is able to drive discrete deliverables as well as rapidly shift to participate in additional projects as necessary across various functional areas. The role requires outstanding analytical and advisory skills, excellent written communication skills, the ability to plan, manage and deliver projects, the ability to liaise with cross-functional teams within the organization, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the Nexis Solutions President and senior leadership team. The Strategy Manager/Associate will not only be responsible for strategic planning, but will also drive operational implementation of plans and ensure best practices are leveraged.

As a result, the ideal candidate will:

1. Drive cross-functional projects to address and solve key strategic issues facing the business, partnering with various teams to deliver high quality results to planned timescales. Example projects include:
  • Evaluate the attractiveness of new business opportunities (e.g., partnerships, licensing deals, new products) by considering market/competitive dynamics and internal capabilities
  • Assess product and content capabilities and develop prioritized roadmaps to enhance competitive positioning
  • Develop a growth strategy for a customer segment or geographical market by understanding current and potential use cases of our offerings and develop a tactical plan to execute
  • Build a tactical plan for an operational initiative within the organization, model its financial impact, implement the plan, and measure its success
2. Develop internal presentations on the state of the business or broader business information industry
  • Analyze market, customer, and competitive data and communicate key information and implications to the senior leadership team
  • Manage and deliver the annual operating plan cycle including strategy/business reviews or board/investor presentations
  • Support presentations for internal town halls and management meetings
3. Support evaluation of M&A and partnerships together with members of cross-functional global teams

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-5 years of experience in a management consulting and/or corporate strategy role (lower end for Associate role, higher end for Manager role)
  • Strategic thinker who is highly analytical and has excellent presentation and communication skills as well as advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to bring a macro perspective to business opportunities and a bias for action in solving operational issues
  • Ability to problem solve, make tradeoffs among complex alternatives, and support recommendations to Senior Leadership
  • Ability to deliver results working with individuals of all seniority levels within a complex, multi-cultural, matrixed environment
  • Experience driving complex projects in a highly organized and detail-oriented manner
  • Technical proficiency in one or more of the following areas is a big plus (though not required): Data / financial modeling; Tableau; SQL, Python, R
