This position will be in Operational Technology department in Dexcom IT and will be dedicated on projects with operations engineering and manufacturing teams.

Provides expertise in engineering, design, testing and administration of Ignition SCADA systems. Actively assists manufacturing operations in problem solving with regards to Ignition SCADA and HMI, and support OPC server configuration for OSI PI and Camstar. Assists in the validation of process and automation. Develop python code for digital twin automated testing and connection to Camstar for production data collection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, modify, tune and manages Ignition SCADA system.
  • Develop the equipment software requirement with equipment integration vendor
  • Plan hardware and infrastructure with network infrastructure team for SCADA system at all factory locations
  • Define and standardize the strategy of automated machine monitor for all factory locations
  • Update and improve HMI's for complex machinery to be used by operators and maintenance.
  • Develop testing strategy and code digital twin/digital operator automated testing for SCADA system.
  • Use Python scripting and SQL to interface equipment with Siemens Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and to collect data into production databases
  • Oversees protection of the SCADA environment and ensures SCADA data security and integrity by establishing operational guidelines and controls including privacy, security, editing, validating and restart/recovery controls.
  • Collaborates with database engineer in the designing of database schemas to integrate SCADA systems with other system's database structures.
  • Keep track of inventory and licensing agreements for SCADA system hardware, software, IP addresses, ids/passwords in a centralized storage methodology.
  • Maintaining, keeping current and backing-up all PLC programs and SCADA configurations.
  • Configure OPC server/connector for applications including OSI PI and Camstar
  • Develop and execute test plans, and controls related validation protocols. Write reports to ensure equipment/processes meet part/assembly specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform PLC /HMI/SCADA code review and approval. Recommend and/or implement improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Hands on investigation and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment issues is required.
  • This position assumes and performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ Experience developing HMI/SCADA programs for automated equipment.
  • 5+ years knowledge of equipment validation (URS, FAT, SAT, SW V&V, IQ, OQ & PQ).
  • Python programming is required.
  • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA system.
  • Experience with automated systems in a Product Test Engineering environment.
  • Experience in installation and validation of automated equipment.
  • Working knowledge of GMP standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrated use of analytical tools and procedures used in Lean Six Sigma such as utilizing the DMAIC methodology for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical device automation, test methods/standards, processes and related equipment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting automated equipment.
  • Ability to work in Team environment across multiple functional groups.
  • Excellent team-oriented communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility in a fast pace environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • In depth knowledge of controls systems.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with relational databases
  • Experience with SW V&V of Automated systems on the factory floor.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and maintain timelines.
  • Detail oriented and organized.

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.

Exempt Salary Details

The annual base salary range for this role is $122,500 to $204,100. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
