The Global Market Access team at Dexcom (comprised of Health Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR), Global reimbursement/Access, government affairs, and post-market clinical evidence) is responsible for identifying, planning, and executing post-market clinical and economic value studies and analyses, as well as establishing global healthcare system access for Dexcom's growing product portfolio.

Dexcom has a rapidly advancing continuous glucose monitoring product portfolio. We are currently seeking an HEOR researcher. The qualified candidate will be able to successfully support and manage health economic analyses (e.g., cost effectiveness and budget impact models), as well as support international health technology assessments (HTAs) and health care reimbursement submissions. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (global launch teams, product development, market development, clinical research, pricing, business development) to effectively ensure Dexcom's clinical and economic value propositions are being optimally communicated and leveraged. This requires the qualified candidate to have a keen understanding of how key healthcare system stakeholders (global payers, providers, patients, reimbursement authorities) perceive value. The position also requires being adept at identifying unmet evidence needs to support future business/technology efforts. The position requires strong analytic and communication skills.

Position responsibilities:

  • Initially dig deep into Dexcom's global value dossier, become an expert of all things clinically and economically evidence supporting the value propositions of real-time continuous glucose monitoring. You will also need to understand the scope and capabilities of our HEOR data sources/datasets. You will become highly conversant regarding this evidence and be a thought leader and communication leader internally at Dexcom.
  • Support launch activities, product development, market development, clinical research, business development) for corporate Dexcom, including planning and execution of value workshops, development of value collateral and materials, demonstrations of budget impact models, etc...
  • Identify unmet value needs voiced by Dexcom business stakeholders and scope out opportunities to effectively address and execute them.

Required Qualifications:

Doctorate degree OR Master's degree and 4 years of market access/health economics outcomes research experience OR Bachelor's degree and 6 years of market access/health economics outcomes research experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to analyze and digest clinical and economic literature, with strong understanding of clinical trial design, and health economic analyses methodologies and outcomes
  • Understanding of the diabetes management and care industries
  • Strong business and evidence-based acumen
  • Ability to translate complex clinical and economic analyses to succinctly communicate impact and necessary considerations to Dexcom business
  • Strong understanding of payer environment in major countries, including coverage and reimbursement, pricing, value drivers, health technology assessment, health policy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Global experience and mindset

Functional Description

Supports the health economics and outcomes research strategy for assigned therapeutic areas and products. Develops and uses analytic models, cost effectiveness models, to assist with evaluation of budget impact, disease treatment models, and other tools in order to identify sales opportunities. Researches and conducts analysis to determine optimal contract positioning, pricing, reimbursement, insurance coverage and future research budget. May also conduct analysis for messaging with health care providers, insurers, patients and regulators.
