Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr Front End Engineer

What you'll do:

  • Balance active code development with the management requirements and responsibilities of a disciplined lead
  • Continually review development processes to identify potential improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, operable, maintainable solutions
  • Collaborative working style with a strong focus on execution and results
  • Passion for great engineering, demonstrated through depth and breadth of knowledge
  • Strong architectural and development skills
  • Ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary enterprise projects
  • Broad understanding of software engineer needs, testing, release practices and operational standard methodologies
  • Experience working with product, engineering and operations to build, execute and test technical user and enterprise centric designs that lead to successful product delivery solutions.
  • Experience leading the implementation of CI/CD and release pipelines
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins or other
  • 5+ years of software development and/or extensive scripting experience in object-oriented languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • REST and web service and microservice experience
  • Containerization and management with Docker, Kubernetes or similar

Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical application strategy and leadership in one or more areas
  • Responsible for design, architecture, development and implementation of new features to an Angular/React based web applications
  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains major and/or mission critical applications and web services integration layer to connect e-commerce platform to back-end Serverless, Headless and ERP systems
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements new technology
  • Provides technical expertise and acts as a technical resource and mentor for the application development team
  • Accepts individual/ team responsibilities and meets commitments
  • Creative in delivering value to application solutions and customer/user requests.
  • Participate in team meetings of internal/external resources, to learn more on enhancing and maintaining existing systems
  • Conduct code reviews of deliverables from internal/external resources
  • Collaborate with UI/UX team to build simple and intuitive user interfaces
  • Participate in planning, estimation, and scoping of feature development
  • Participate in daily meetings to discuss progress/bottlenecks of projects
Experience / Training / Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years managing software testers and developers.
  • 5+ years of software development and testing experience.
  • Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Knowledge of agile methodology and Scrum framework.
  • Excitement about taking cutting-edge technologies and techniques to one of the most important and most archaic industries
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript as well as modern libraries (React.js/Redux experience preferred)
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and Web Services
  • Experience with AWS - CloudFront, S3, Cognito, Route53, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB
  • Experience with source control tools - GitHub, Gitlab or Bitbucket
  • Experience with Unit Test frameworks
