ABOUT THIS POSITION

With the guidance of the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, and leveraging Microsoft PowerBI, this position will support and enhance current Power BI data models while also developing new Power BI data models to track key business initiatives. Individuals in this position are expected to develop a broad knowledge of Waystar's business, industry, and operations to support analysis and decision making at all levels of the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead development of new Power BI data models tied to key business initiatives
  • Support and enhance (as needed) current Power BI data models
  • Be additional subject matter expert on Power BI
  • Quickly learn and apply new technical skills related to the finance team's software stack (Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse and Logic Apps)
  • Drive business value and performance through innovative data analytics
  • Proactively and independently identify opportunities for improvement
  • Gathering, combining, and analyzing data from a variety of sources and systems
  • Developing and implementing new metrics of business, financial, and operational performance
  • Automating and streamlining business process to arrive at the right answer faster

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor degree in finance, business, accounting, data science, or computer studies preferred
  • 2-3+ years of similar work experience required
  • Solid understanding of dimensional modelling concepts
  • Intermediate or better proficiency in Power Query, DAX and Power BI visualizations
  • Intermediate experience with SQL a plus
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse and/or Microsoft Logic Apps a plus

This role is located in SLC, Louisville, Mid-town Atlanta or Duluth.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Finance & Accounting teams at Waystar manage, track, and analyze all financial activity across the company. From billing and budgeting to pricing and reporting, the department drives the fiscal stability of Waystar and fosters future growth. Team members play a crucial role in invoicing and collecting from customers, determining product pricing, forecasting, modeling, and planning financial outcomes, including potential mergers and acquisitions. The Finance & Accounting department utilizes Netsuite, Coupa and Microsoft Power BI for financial reporting, AP and AR management, budgeting, and custom reporting.
