Primary Function of Position:



The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Devops engineering within a regulated environment, support small to mid-sized development teams, and success in developing infrastructure as code for dynamic environments.



Roles and Responsibilities:



Focusing on infrastructure automation, cloud integration, and execution of infrastructure as code methodologies. This position will work closely with developers, DBAs, QA, and project managers throughout the software lifecycle in delivering best in class technical infrastructure to support external product delivery




  • Automation (Infrastructure as code, patching, release management, etc.)

  • Participate in the development, execution, and support of Infrastructure release management and operations

  • Establish monitoring and infrastructure health reporting for advancement of self-healing infrastructure principles

  • Enhance/extend a configuration/deployment/monitoring framework in partnership with Site Reliability Engineer(s)

  • Support cloud environment on AWS

  • Interact with internal customers and development team to gather and define requirements and document architecture

  • Follows a formal design process using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and also adheres to regulations, standards, and established guidelines for development and delivery within area of responsibility

  • Deploy and manage a DevOps pipeline using tools such as; Ansible, Jenkins, CircleCI, Git

  • Support service-oriented architecture (SOA) and microservices

  • Work with NoSQL Datastores (such as MongoDB) and RDMS like Microsoft SQL, MYSQL, PostGre

  • Provides off-hours support for critical applications as required


Qualifications

Skills/Job Requirements:



Competency Requirements: (Competency is based on: education, training, skills and experience.)



In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must:




  • Team player and good mentor for junior members of the team

  • Minimum 8-10 years DevOPS, Systems/Infrastructure, or related engineering experience

  • Containers - CI/CD processes for container images, container security

  • GKE/AKS/EKS/ECS/Kubernetes - cluster lifecycle, roles, hardening

  • Hands-on experience with AWS technologies (EC2, VPC, EBS, ALB, RDS, S3, EKS etc.)

  • Experience with capacity planning processes supporing on-premises & public cloud deployment models

  • Demonstrated experience working in agile environments

  • Experience in systems automation, virtualization, orchestration, deployment, and implementation

  • Experience in scaling distributed data systems, deploying and managing software in production environment and container-based service deployment using Docker

  • Proficiency in at least 2 programming languages (i.e. Python, Ruby, Java, etc)

  • Proficiency in Ansible, Terraform, or other configuration management and centralized configuration tools

  • Demonstrated experience in networking, subnets, stateful firewalls, ports & protocols, Windows Firewall, IPTables, and CIDR notation

  • Hands on experience with CI/CD pipeline and Build tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Cope Pipeline etc.

  • Technical troubleshooting skills a must

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail; mission-critical production support experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in working effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Experience with Linux OS, RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat satellite experience is plus

  • Experience with automating and Windows OS is desired

  • Experience implementing Security Best Practices

  • Experience with Enterprise tools like Splunk, Nagios, ELK etc.

  • B.S in Computer Science or related technical major, or commensurate experience

  • Location: Sunnyvale, CA, Santa Barbara, CA, Norcross, GA

  • Travel: <15%
