Educational and Experience Requirement:

Associate's Degree in related field. Three years experience in accounting or experience in a related field. Certifications may be required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Performs advanced specialist duties for the Department of Facilities Business Services.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs specialist duties for Facilities Management construction projects. Responsible for accounts payable activities and processes. Responsible for facilitating the various operational processes required to issue payments. Analyzes, verifies, and codes invoices for accuracy. Posts payments and verifies accounts receivable. Reviews and processes invoices accurately and timely to ensure proper matching of purchasing and receiving documents, proper distribution to general ledger expense accounting chart fields, and timely and accurate payments. Reconciles account fund expenditures and procurement charges. Runs standard reports. Prepares and maintains logs and reports using spreadsheets to track or report various information. Solves routine problems to complete tasks. Properly documents all files for audit trail. Maintains accurate and organized filing systems for electronic and paper files. Compiles, tracks, and reviews data and reports. Prepares, reviews, revises and distributes documents and correspondence. Scheduling, ordering, and tracking of various supplies for the University Warehouse. Communicates with staff and vendors to resolve issues. Coordinates departmental communication and correspondence for issue resolution and policy clarification. Provides departmental or university information to departments, and staff. Assists in developing policies and interprets policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task. Responsible for facilitating the various operational processes required to issue payments. Knowledge of personal computers with business productivity and accounting software, Microsoft word and excel, and other standard office machines.
