Site Reliability Engineer

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Quest, you will work closely with systems engineers, software developers, bioinformaticians, and scientific staff members to architect, implement, and support highly-available, fault-tolerant systems that are mission critical in a variety of on-premise and cloud environments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Extend and maintain the features, reliability, and performance of existing on-premise Kubernetes cluster.

• Identify, debug, and automate routine tasks.

• Help design and implement scientific applications and tools with an emphasis on durability, security, reliability, maintainability, and performance.

• Help design and maintain mature observability solutions to enhance and integrate existing and future development projects with upstream monitoring, telemetry, metrics, and support operations.

To qualify, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• 5+yrs experience as a Site Reliability Engineer and/or Systems Engineer and/or DevOps Engineer for high-performance computational systems.

• B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience writing code in Shell, Python, Perl, or similar languages in a POSIX environment.

• Knowledge of networking technologies, TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, and other protocols.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud technologies, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes.
