POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall management of Truck & Depot Operations in the US. Sets goals, monitors work and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and the mission of the organization. Directly responsible for implementing and managing cost saving initiatives while managing operational spend. Develop and maintain standards and policies for all truck operations. Ensure highly productive relationships and partnerships for the benefit of the organization. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality.

FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

  • Set and maintain standards and policies for truck & depot operations.
  • Maintain truck door delivery/pickup and service delivery levels that meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Direct and oversee loaded and empty truck operations as well as tracking system updating in relation to cost management and service delivery
  • In conjunction with Sourcing, develop a network of cost effective motor-carrier vendors for the movement of import and export cargo.
  • Develop and maintain working relationship with vendors including rail, trucking, and depots.
  • Responsible for successful management of the CMA CGM Domestic product
  • Work with Finance group to ensure policies and procedures are adhered to for accounts payable and receivable.
  • Liaise with HO Line management and intermodal to ensure profitable results for the company
  • Analyze North America routing issues and implement improved routing plans with HO Line, Trade and NA operations in both CCA & CCC
  • Develop and implement cost savings initiatives and cost controls for all Truck Operations, with specific focus on one way door delivery and round trip loaded Matchback truck savings.
  • Analyze weekly and monthly KPI's
  • Identifies, implements and manages strategies to improve operational performance
  • Implements and manages cost savings initiatives
  • Analyzes operational data and trends in order to guide decision making
  • Analyzes operational spend to identify cost savings opportunities
  • Analyze service failures to determine root causes and identify methods to eliminate similar issues going forward
  • Review and approve AP invoices

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in all inland operations, customer service, procurement, equipment, cargo management, M&R and documentation functions
  • Proficient in MS Office, LARA, Footprints, Mira and Ocean applications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree REQUIRED

Master's Degree PREFERRED

Industry Experience 10-15 years REQUIRED

General work experience 5-10 years REQUIRED
