Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with a high-level independence, developing plans and related processes with department leader in alignment with broader business objectives.

Specific Job Summary

The Sr. Digital Design Developer is responsible for leading a team that delivers highly effective, aesthetic, on-brand, and on-strategy creative solutions for websites, web pages, email communications, email templates, social media graphics, and banner ads. The Sr. Digital Design Manager reports to the Sr. Manager Digital Design, and works closely with the account, copy and design teams to deliver on time creative solutions based on documented business strategies.

Programming languages - The Sr. Digital Design Developer must be expert at using various language to design web pages and applications, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WordPress

Adobe Creative Suite software - from Dreamweaver to Photoshop, the digital designers must be adept at the various Adobe software that would help them in web development and graphic design

Project management - scheduling, cost, and time management are a few project management phases that the digital designer should be familiar with when working on various types of projects

Expected Contributions

  • Performs the following types of basic tasks: analysis, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, programming, research, report generation, and software integration.
  • Responds to, solves and makes decisions on standard/routine business requests with limited risk.
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff.
  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by: - utilizing technical knowledge and skills to enhance business processes. - establishing priorities for self and, where appropriate, others. - allocating own time effectively to meet goals in a manner that does not disadvantage other associates or groups. - contributing to department/unit budget as appropriate (i.e., input, following guidelines, etc.).
  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate
Specific Expected Contributions
  • Drives the design and front end development for websites, product graphics, web logos, social media graphics and banners, static and rich banner ads, email campaigns, and email templates across all VO brands. While some projects may require directing external resources, the role is expected to be hands-on.
  • Advise on and implement product positioning, consumer insights and usability studies, and offline/online Marketing strategies into effective user interfaces.
  • Directs others on creative strategy and brand standards • Develops creative digital solutions that deliver on business objectives
  • Understands both Vacation Ownership and Interval businesses and programs
  • Collaborate with Digital Experience and Digital Growth teams and internal and external developers to ensure aesthetics also are aligned with usability, accessibility, and web standards
  • Work with developers to ensure proper implementation within a web or mobile app environment and ensure consistency and integrity of the creative vision
  • Work with Digital teams to translate and create marketing requirements into compelling, appropriate cross channel campaigns and designs.
  • Direct and produce digital design work, including banner sizing and versioning,.
  • Turn wireframes into simple, easy-to-use user Interfaces.
  • Determine KPIs and implement tagging strategies and digital metrics to measure success
  • Ensure consistency of brand and creative across digital customer touch points and brands
  • Provide design support to other business lines to create product graphics, logos, identity design, or other similar offline graphics.

Candidate Profile

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:

Generally, a professional position requiring significant knowledge and experience in one or more disciplines and/or business operations as well as associate management experience. College degree and/or relevant experience generally required.

Specific Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 8-10 years successful professional design experience, preferably at a digital agency or in-house Web team for a product-driven business.
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Management experience in a creative environment
  • Must have a portfolio with resume to be considered
  • A team player with a great attitude
  • Must be able to design and communicate within a team environment
  • Must understand a variety of email marketing tools • Must know HTML, CSS and JavaScript (jQuery is a plus)
  • Must understand how Wordpress works (Content and templates)
  • Must know Photoshop, Illustrator or equivalent (InDesign is a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in digital design, graphic design, graphic communications or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong portfolio of design work, showing solution to business problems through effective design.
  • Able to present concepts and lead internal teams to the correct solution.
  • Experience in web marketing/web design with a strong knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, FTP, web design and development principles
  • Deep knowledge with Web design processes
  • Experience designing e-commerce websites or advertising
  • Strong work ethic and personal accountability
  • Team focused
  • Strong customer focus and satisfaction skills required
  • Good Interpersonal skills for client interface and presentations
  • Ability to look at business objectives and prioritize work based on the "bigger picture". Incorporate strategic thinking into project execution
