The Senior Data Scientist plays a key role in analyzing equipment and usage data in commercial limited service restaurants and developing predictive analytics platforms for Henny Penny connected product portfolio. The ideal candidate is expected to apply quantitative and qualitative methods to solve complex data problems in a dynamic environment. He or she has a good understanding of predicting failure and estimating the useful life of critical parts, which requires a through analysis of the electrical and mechanical parameters.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support the delivery of advanced analytics solutions using data from connected products and external data sourced through API's across the business.
  • Implement data processing across devices, gateways, data gathering platforms, databases, analytics, ML, and AI.
  • Designs, creates, tests, and implements complex models and data mining algorithms for predicting machine failures.
  • Understand the 4 core IoT components: devices, connectivity, IoT platforms, and applications.
  • Leverage a broad set of modern technologies - including Python, SQL, PySpark, and Spark - to analyze and gain insights within large data sets.
  • Manage, architect, and analyze big data in order to build data-driven insights and high-impact data models.
  • Using statistical practices, analyze current and historical data to make predictions, identify risks, and opportunities, enabling better decisions on planned/future events.
  • Build, test, and deploy supervised or unsupervised learning models.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and innovative ways of presenting and visualizing information.
  • Able to work with large amounts of data when creating facts, figures, and general number crunching.
  • Work directly with the IoT cloud architect/data analyst/data engineer/machine learning engineers and the project/functional leads.
  • Collaborate with other team members, subject matter experts, and delivery teams to deliver strategic advanced analytic-based solutions from design to deployment.
  • Transform data presented in models, charts, and tables into insights that is useful to the business and aids in effective decision making by leadership and stakeholders.

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of working experience working with data and predictive modeling
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and Masters Degree in Data Science or equivalent
  • Experience deploying machine learning and statistical models into real-world applications
  • Experience with time series data, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, forecasting or any related areas
  • Experience with statistical analytics tools and advanced data tools like cluster analysis, MDS, conjoint analysis
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Strong SQL skills and are comfortable digging into a data model to get actionable insights
  • Experience building out end-to-end machine learning models into production data
  • Understanding of core cloud services, uses of the services, and basic cloud architecture best practices for ML implementation, including the AWS or Azure
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
