Do you have strong organizational dexterity and a flexible, assured approach when it comes to joggling priorities?DNV Energy Systems is seeking to hire a self-motivated and innovative Assistant Editor and Office Administrator, to provide local business/office assistance to DNV employees in San Diego and assist with key administrative and commercial tasks for colleagues across North America working on onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery storage, energy efficiency, and other renewable and sustainable energy projects. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits. This position is primarily an office position, with four business days in the office.What You'll Dono two days will be the same!Assistant Editor (65%): At DNV, our customers' success is paramount to everything we do. In this role you will be expected to combine editorial and administrative tasks, such as reviewing proposals and reports for errors, proofreading, research references, formatting and housekeeping duties related customer products. Activities may include the following:

  • Provide project and content-development assistance and perform a variety of projects for the team, as needed
  • Perform editorial tasks, such as check typeset proofs (i.e., proofreading), copy editing, review documents to identify punctuation and grammatical errors, verify and fix references and citations, tag and prepare electronic documents, update, and correct document styles and formatting
  • Assist proposal development including the setup of the document based on RFP information, collating CVs and bios, and other general coordinating activities
  • As techniques improve, and with increased experience, more tasks may be assigned
Office Administrator (35%): The Office Administrator ensures the successful, safe, and amazing working conditions of the San Diego office, as well as liaises with other offices and internal DNV assistance functions. Tasks may include the following:
  • Oversee management of all office equipment and supplies, including local vendor management and maintenance, purchases of office supplies and furniture. Local culture management including birthday/anniversary parties, monthly events, and the annual office party
  • Incoming mail/phone communications, shipments, visitor/courier management, office related shipping, building key card system, alarm system management, and assistance for remote employees
  • Serve as the office building representative in facilities administration on the QHSE committee and maintain office health, safety, and compliance documentation, postings, and procedures; plan quarterly internal office HSE meeting
  • Direct administrative aspects of on-boarding of new employees, in conjunction with HR and IT support services, including desk setup, access setup, equipment ordering, etc
  • Travel is not expected as part of this position
Position Qualifications

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (such as business administration, environmental science, sustainability, English, literature) or 3 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced fluency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Able to proof documents, write, cite, and create reference lists
  • Passion to drive the energy transition through clean energy development, sustainability-mindsets, and a focus on energy equity
  • Excellent organizational and time management with aptitude to multitask and work under tight timelines
  • Professional demeanor, outgoing and helpful personality, detail oriented, and continually curious
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
