Description:

Required for this position: NPS (Neo-Peds Specialty) credentialed from the NBRC (National Boardfor Respiratory Care). Please see other requirements below.

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator and the Manager of Respiratory Care, provides intensive and general respiratory care services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients upon receiving written prescriptions from a physician or per approved medical center protocol. RCP II Professional Pool staff will be trained in all accountabilities and standards for adult patient care as specified in the regular RCP II staff job description, and in addition will be trained in either neonatal or pediatric patient care, or both, based on Department needs.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

Required: Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education

Preferred: Bachelors Degree

Specify Degree(s): Completion of accredited respiratory care program

Minimum Experience:

Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience

Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

Current Respiratory Care License State of Illinois

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Recognition

Preferred:

ACLS (Advanced Cardio Life Support Certified)

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Other: CRT credential and Respiratory Care License for State of Illinois must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire. NRP is required for Primary NeoNatal practitioners.
