Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional R&D Technician to join our TEAM! As R&D Technicians we need someone who is ready to provide support in running and operating pilot lines, preparing samples, performing lab tests, and performing quality control tests.

Primary Objective

Prepares samples on pilot line or using lab equipment, performs physical testing of samples, operates and maintains lab equipment, and is responsible for lab safety and cleanup.

Major Function and Scope

Sample preparation using lab equipment/pilot line for various projects.

Performs lab tests including, but not limited to, an inspection of work in progress and finished tile for strength, impact resistance, and other tests.

Inspects product samples to ensure quality standards are met.

Assists in daily operation, maintenance, and cleanup of lab equipment.

Documents test results.

Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.

Follows standard operating procedures.

Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.

Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required

High school diploma or equivalent experience.

1-year previous R&D/manufacturing experience preferred.

Competencies

Ability to work hands-on in a lab environment. Good oral and written communication skills. Good record-keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Good math skills. Knowledge of word processors and spreadsheets. Ability to read and write in English.
