Location: Hattiesburg, MS Opportunity The basic function is to provide basic guidance andmentoring to module leaders, repair technicians and other setups on theassembly line with demonstrated competence with half of the modules on a line. Areas of primary focus would be safety,quality, delivery, cost and morale while striving to develop the Kohler Co.core competencies. Specific Responsibilities -Promote safe operation of all tools, equipment and processes in the assembly department.
-Manage area's 5s organization and maintain an environment that promotes safety and communication of issues to obtain quick response to issues. Expectation is to lead by example and make corrections to processes that are not normal or increases the risk of safety issues, participate in safety audits, and drive corrective action to issues identified.
-Promote quality work throughout the assembly department by monitoring equipment and processes to ensure compliance with PTAs and process intent.
-Monitor the equipment on the line to drive uptime improvements in terms of troubleshooting complex issues with the equipment and responsible for maintaining basic preventative maintenance activities on the equipment.
-Aid in implementation, training, and enforces proper use of all gages used in engine assembly. -Expectation, outside of training on these gages, is to maintain and have spare tools and gages in good working condition that are current in gage calibrations at all times if applicable.
-Promote consistent cycle times to aid in meeting customer demand by looking for opportunities to improve processes and techniques.
-Aid in the development of new processes in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering, and lead the setup of most rework activities in which air tools, hand tools, gage usage is required, and can be available to work non-standard hours in cases of the urgency in any activities needed in the plan
-Operate engine tests, all equipment used on the assembly lines, and produce quality products off of each of them for repair activity needs.
-Promote cost containment by looking for ways to reduce and eliminate scrap and rework.
-Responsible for the reporting structure of daily reports on engine repairs, defective units and root cause analysis on more complex engine failures or defective units, where applicable. Also will have frequent communication with multiple levels of the organization based on engine failures, frequencies, and concerns.
-Responsible for the training, execution, and integrity of the torque audit and air tool/gauging repair program.
-Ensure applicable product compliance requirements are upheld including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulation and California Health and Safety Code.

High school diploma or GED equivalent
2 years of Industrial Manufacturing experience or equivalent component repair experience.
2-Year Technical Degree
2 years of engine repair and diagnostics experience with small engines
Experience with Microsoft Office applications in Excel and Word preferred.
