Use your nursing experience to provide individualized care to those in substance use recovery in the Western Massachusetts community!

Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Registered Nurse in the Hope Centerprogram at Behavioral Health Network! This position is per diem (4 hours a week) and great for nurses interested in gaining experience in the fields of mental & behavioral health.

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st - through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN's Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Additionally, BHN is a Tobacco Free workplace. All Staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors agree not to smell of or use Tobacco or ENDS products while on paid work time or within sight of any BHN facility.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Hope Center with the following:

  • Providing nursing supports to individuals served and coordination/support to Program Directors.
  • Acting as liaison to area and regional medical facilities.
  • Providing health assessments to individuals admitted to the facility.
  • Providing ongoing in-service training and consultation to other staff members.
  • Serving as a resource to individuals and families.
  • Participating in clinical assessments by preparing and submitting nursing assessments and progress notes in accordance with agency policies.
  • Using the staff log and EMR to convey pertinent individual served information to staff.
  • Monitoring the medication logs for accuracy.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of individuals served information at all times in accordance with 42 CFR.

Qualifications/Requirements

What are we looking for in a Registered Nurse?
  • Commitment to consumer empowerment, growth, human rights, and community integration (required).
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree (preferred) or Diploma/degree in nursing (required).
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Massachusetts Board of Registration (required).
  • At least five years of experience in the human services field (required).
  • At least one year of nursing experience (preferred).
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English (preferred).
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills (required).
  • Working knowledge of DPH regulations (required).
  • Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems (required).
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable car available for working hours (required).
  • In successful recovery for two or more years (required, if applicable).
