Job Summary

The Proposal Development Manager writes complex Federal grant proposals, including maintaining current grants and leading development on new grant proposals, in an effort to maximize funding opportunities for TCC.

Essential Duties

Write complex federal grant proposals, such as U.S. Department of Education proposals (e.g., TRIO and Title III).

Maintain the college's current grants by leading teams on renewal applications; collaborate with Sponsored Programs staff and college stakeholders to thoroughly assess opportunities and align new funding proposals with strategic goals.

Lead the development of new grant proposals from agencies like NSF, DOL, EDA, DoD, etc. Convene potential collaborators, organize faculty/staff project teams, and lead proposal development meetings.

Work with external teams/agencies as needed when TCC is partnering on consortium grants.

Collaborate with Director of Sponsored Programs and the TCC Foundation to maximize funding opportunities for the College.

Create and maintain timelines for proposal development, including managing grant writing teams and associated project tasks for on-time submission(s).

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and the Grant Compliance Coordinator to ensure that budgets are sufficient for proposed projects and consistent with OMB Uniform Grant Guidance. Assist the Director of Sponsored Programs with entering submission information in Grants.gov and other systems and compiling proposal attachments.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field (any program for which writing was a significant component).

3 years of related work experience.

Experience with grant writing and research, as well as familiarity with Grants.gov and submission procedures.

Project management experience.

Ability to collaborate well with others, including executive-level leadership and external agencies.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field.

Prefer demonstrated experience in higher education
