Position Summary:

The Proces Engineer focuses on purification of machined graphite parts per product and process specifications. Activities will revolve around production support but will include product development work and customer complaint resolution. Involvement in other areas will be required to fully understand and complete overall job responsibilities. This position interacts with external customers and sales.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide engineering support to Purification department in response to specific quality issues and process optimization.
  • Utilize knowledge in high-temperature induction and vaccuum outgas furnaces as well as related equipment such as pyrometers, gas distributions systems, leak detection systems, and scrubber systems.
  • Support implementation and troubleshooting of SCADA systems.
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction and throughput.
  • Interface with Purification department personnel and other departments to coordinate purification activities in relation to product specifications.
  • Meet customer quality and performance expectations.
  • Establish and maintain process and safety documentation. Provide training as necessary.
  • Provide engineering support in Purification department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • This position will be a back-up to the Production Supervisor

Your Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in production and/or R&D environment
  • Experience with high temperature processing (including vacuum out-gassing) using resistance heated and induction furnaces preferred
  • Experience with SCADA systems preferred (Ignition)
  • Knowledge of machining, purificationand CVD coating processes. Familiarity with material and elemental testing methods (ash, GDMS)
  • Ability to apply statistical methodology to establish process capability
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, analysis/problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well without close supervision, work in a team environment, and lead work groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel) and SAP
