We operate smaller buses (less than 12 passangers + a Bus Aide to assist with the children) and vans to transport special education cheildren to and from school. We provide an Bus Monitr to assist the children on and off the vehicle. This is a great opportunity for a second career--we can help you get all of your state certifications while you train.

Reliant Transportation provides safe and reliable school bus operations, and we are eager to serve our students in communities requiring special needs transit in the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Students in special education cluster programs within Chicago area schools will still be full-time, learn at school/in-person.

Who You Are:

As a School Bus Driver (small 12-passenger) for our special needs transit, you will be an essential part of providing safe vehicle operation, caring customer service, and reliable student transportation to and from school daily in our condensed size, 12-passenger brand new school buses, in accordance with state traffic and safety regulations.

School Bus Driver (small 12-passenger) Minimum Requirements:

• No CDL required, we will train to obtain a valid School Bus Permit
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Driver's License for three (3) years in good standing. Have no reckless driving charges within three (3) years or tickets for driving 25 mph over speed limit within the past three (3) years
• Must be in compliance with all city, state and federal vehicle driver licensing and permit laws and requirements
• IL Child Abuse History Clearance Report
• Able to pass a DOT physical
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Able to work with students of all ages with disabilities
