Known for its presentation of a wide variety of events from the latest popular concerts and Broadway attractions to university ceremonies and conference events, IU Auditorium is a 3,200-seat proscenium venue that has been a model of campus and community programming and engagement since it opened in 1941. Job Summary
- Performs a variety of custodial duties along with event conversion.
- Uses low powered cleaning equipment for multi- surface floors.
- Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
- Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Performs seasonal removal of snow from sidewalks and entrances using snow blowers and/or snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals.
- Identifies and reports items in the building that need repair.
- Responsible for event set-up/tear-down.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High School diploma or equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred- Previous custodial experience.

Required
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Performs work in a safe and efficient manner (especially in areas of biohazard and/or hazardous waste cleanup).
- Ability to work in team environment, and to interact and communicate with a wide variety of people.
- Emphasize pride in his/her work and a positive approach to work environment.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability.
- Ability to be a team player.
Working Conditions / DemandsThis position requires the ability to move 10-40 pounds frequently for cleaning purposes. The person in this role must be able to move through a multi-level facility and remain stationary for extended periods of time.

Advertised Salary$11.00 an hour
Work HoursThis is a part-time hourly position with various 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift positions available. The work schedule is generally scheduled in the mornings with varying days of the week including some holiday and weekends depending on the event schedule.
Minimum of 15 hours a week and maximum of 29 hours a week.
