Job Summary
- Schedules patient appointments to allow for effective treatment and patient care.
- Ensures proper staff resources are available to accommodate patient load.
- Answers phones and provides office information.
- Ensures compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and regulations in clinics.
- Manages triage, complaints, and queries from patients and students and escalates issues when needed.
- Accepts payments, enters coding on patient accounts, processes billing, and assists with billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Applies insurance benefits and authorizations appropriately to patient accounts to determine patient due amounts.
- Reconciles daily deposits and conducts closing procedures.
- Places prescription orders.
- Assists in clinic with other tasks as needed.
QualificationsCombinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required- 1 year of medical office or related experience.

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
