Position Overview

The Co-Op will investigate advanced systems and methods in facilitating Lock Out Tag Out at the Spokane site with potential integration into Novelis production sites. Additionally, the Co-Op will support the authoring of Lock Out Tag Out tasks for the Spokane ACCD Line.

The Co-Op will focus on identifying products/software (or companies that can develop products/software) that automatically fill/print LOTO tags based on task, tablets with digital task forms, sends automatic notifications to affected employees, automatically initiated audits, and other such advancements in LOTO systems and methods. The Co-Op is to generate a plan, assist in generating an eRFA for approved plan, bring the plan to fruition, and generate a report that can be utilized as an information share for other sites.

Additional LOTO support, such as supporting or leading LOTO task authoring, as well as auditing, will be required.

At the end of the assignment the Co-op will have had the opportunity to learn in safety, adapting technology, project leadership, understanding of machinery.

Qualifications

• Engineering focused (mechanical or electrical preferred) or safety focused. Understanding of current technologies preferred.
• Understanding of modern technologies with focus on engineering and or safety.
• Willing to reach across boundaries for information.
• Good communication and organization skills
• Capability to thrive in team environment, and to engage with cross-functional teams within the organization.
• Excellent problem solving and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
