Overview

Job Description: ***Recruitment Bonus available with this position***

The MLT position performs routine medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This position supports the Laboratory Manager/Director.

Laboratory Medicine: Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing. Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks, including phlebotomy as required

Qualifications/Education/Licensure:

For MLT, Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program. Associate's degree or semester hours from an accredited college with 6 semester hours in chemistry and 6 semester hours in biology. Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) certification from American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or National Certifying Agency (NCA), or American Medical Technology (AMT).

For MT, Bachelor's Degree and graduate of an accredited school of Medical Technology. One year as Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist in a healthcare setting. American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or National Certifying Agency (NCA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT)
