The Continuous Improvement Master Black Belt will be responsible for the development and execution of service and operational excellence initiatives to energize the technical resources and physical assets to impact customer satisfaction continuously and positively, quality, equipment reliability, process improvement and operational and business performance. In addition, this position will provide the necessary support to urgently drive development & successful vetting of CI/ PMO projects and once active the projects remain on task as well as, assisting in the identification and removal of barriers preventing successful project completion on time, on budget and delivering projected cost savings/VA/cost avoidance/inventory/reliability targets.

You Will Have the Opportunity to:

  • The development, direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and sustainability of continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities/sites, while remaining aligned with PAC operational strategy and PMO goals.
  • Implement strategic & tactical, complex continuous improvement projects in conjunction with goals and imperatives for increasing revenue/VA, equipment reliability, capacity, and value-added time, optimizing cycle time/run times, reducing defect rates, operating and overhead costs and non-value-added time, and improving customer satisfaction, on time delivery and gross margin.
  • Develop and execute the Continuous Improvement Transformational efforts including but not limited to developing/teaching CI training materials via Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt classes across PAC, developing/leading Kaizen events (6S, Setup reduction, Process Mapping & FMEA efforts, MSE and DOE planning etc)
  • Define and achieve measurable training goals and objectives for CI technical resources across PAC facilities/sites to support the identification of CI/PMO projects to achieve the current year and future years CI/PMO savings goals.
  • Facilitate PAC technical resources to identify and manage their project implementation milestones/timelines/report outs including showcasing the use/understanding/proficiency of CI tools - including but not limited to Thought Maps, SIPOC, Process Mapping, FMEA, MSE, DOE, Control Plans, Material Replenishment, Numerical Evaluation of Metrics i.e., Control Charts to urgently drive for process/continuous improvements decreasing PAC costs while maximizing gross margin.
  • Rigorously evaluate business processes and determine initiatives that will yield greater productivity and efficiency to enable and drive current and future PAC revenue and gross margin growth.
  • Be cross-cultural continuous improvement change agent to drive and sustain measurable internal business process improvements.
  • Be a capable, proficient, and easy to approach technical leader in the application & implementation of Operational Excellence CI best practices and tools.
  • Identify and remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of process yield, cycle time, defect reduction, inventory reduction elimination of process waste, equipment reliability and gross margin preservation and growth

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline. Graduate degree (MBA) a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success applying CI/Lean Sigma tools in a manufacturing or processing environment is required or equivalent continuous improvement experience using the Lean Sigma Tools
  • Black Belt certification, Master Black Belt preferred. MBB certification level required within 2 years in the role.
  • Continuous Improvement Process implementation, Maintenance, Kaizen event development/execution, Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma and Team Communication Tools.
  • A demonstrated understanding and ability to teach the following fundamental CI/Lean Sigma tools Thought Mapping, SIPOC, Pmap, FMEA, Lean Tools (Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, 5S, Visual Management, Internals External Work, Setup reduction), Measurement System Evaluation, Design of Experiments and Control Plans.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
