Description
The Marketing Coordinator helps in the planning, funding, and execution of marketing promotions in the warehouse clubs to promote the sale of books. Provides clerical support to collect, spend, and track publisher funded co-op pools to ensure all available funds are utilized.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Supports efforts of the Shoppers Marketing department to manage overarching co-op and promotional spend for retail accounts, optimizing available co-op funds to maximize sales, improve business results, and support merchandising initiatives.
    • Maintains electronic library of advertising/merchandising vehicles, deadlines, and fees by retailer.
    • Coordinates the execution of promotions at key retailers, including planning, design, and funding.
    • Negotiates publisher funding to support in store promotions.
    • Assists with publisher co-op reporting, including maintaining checkbooks by publisher and retailer.
    • Creates sales presentations in PowerPoint as needed.
    • Collates promotional submissions from publishers on a quarterly basis, or as needed.
    • Maintains tracking logs as needed.
  • Assists with Costco book department's ads in the monthly Costco Connection magazine. Coordinates copy writers, editors and creative department to ensure ads are produced in a timely fashion.
  • Works with publishing representatives, warehouse club buyers, and Readerlink Marketing Services personnel to solicit and contract for pass-through endcaps and placement support for our customers.
  • Works with internal and external partners to develop and execute promotional programs, including but not limited to special pricing, in store signage, advertisements, online promotions, and in store display vehicles.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
  • Time Management - the individual has the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and customers using a range of skills, tools and techniques to effectively manage tasks, projects, goals, deadlines and schedules.
  • Interpersonal Skills - the individual can effectively work with a wide variety of personalities and perspectives, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Written and Oral Communication - the individual speaks clearly and persuasively, successfully negotiates on behalf of his/her customers (internal and external) and can represent Readerlink and customers in a professional manner in public and private interactions. The individual also edits written work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
  • Organization - the individual can effectively develop and maintain processes for record-keeping and reporting for their customers, projects, goals and deadlines. Must be able to maintain high levels of accuracy and detail.
  • Analysis - the individual can combine and apply information from disparate sources, and can interpret and draw conclusions from both quantitative and qualitative data.
What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable professional experience.
  • One (1) year of marketing and/or sales experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess analytical and mathematical ability.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to react promptly to customer's needs.
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands; prioritizes, and allocates time efficiently.
