Byline Bank is at the start of a digital transformation and is looking for a person motivated to undertake a new role on the Marketing Team, and help the company grow in sophistication. The Marketing/Data Analyst will report to the Business Marketing Manager and work closely with marketing team, external consultants, and internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand their analytics needs, including critical metrics and KPIs, and build dashboards/reporting to deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.

The Marketing/Data Analyst is responsible for creating and managing custom dashboards and reports in a variety of systems (Excel, Salesforce FSC, Marketing Intelligence (formerly Datorama), nCino, and more). This team member serves as not just a developer of insights and reports, but also thought leadership in Business Intelligence, data visualization, and exploratory analysis.

The Marketing/Data Analyst is responsible for improving system connectivity and data output, leveraging and enhancing existing data assets and pipelines to create actionable insights, identify trends, and discover opportunities for data literacy and cohesion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and analyze marketing data in Salesforce FSC, Marketing Intelligence (formerly Datorama), FIS, nCino, and Google Analytics. Develop custom dashboards in Marketing Intelligence (formerly Datorama).
  • Identifies data patterns & trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment etc.
  • May be involved in exploratory data analysis, confirmatory data analysis and/or qualitative analysis
  • Translate data into consumer or customer behavioral insights to drive targeting and segmentation strategies, and communicate clearly and effectively to business partners and senior leaders all findings
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Sales leadership to uncover insights and craft strategies that optimize our deposit acquisition, lead generation, and retention efforts (volume and conversion).
  • Drive Business Intelligence and visualization of data for stakeholders. Build and provide consistent data analytics that show how marketing campaigns and efforts have performed from a marketing strategy perspective (marketing spend and KPIs) as well as from a business perspective (how much did we drive in volume, $ origination/growth, income, and how much did we spend to do so?) and offer analysis and recommendations based on industry best practices and goals. Timing is contingent on reporting needs, with weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadences.
  • Coordinate configurations, upgrades, new features/releases for Salesforce & Marketing applications.
  • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets
  • Gather operational data from various cross functional stakeholders to examine past business performance, and recommends actions for future developments & strategic business opportunities, as well as enhancements to operational policies
First 30 Days
  • Meet with marketing team, cross-functional partners and identified external partners to understand their priorities and how you can best support them.
  • Gain an understanding of the projects on our existing marketing analytics roadmap.
  • Familiarize yourself with marketing data tables, KPIs and existing sources of truth.
  • Transition deposit reporting and Byline Express reporting
By 60 Days
  • With a deep understanding of business drivers and an innate grasp of the key business metrics, you pro-actively interact with the stakeholders within the business teams and drive customer-centric changes through data-driven experiments at scale, and analytical exercises (preliminary data analysis, machine learning model development, detailed data analysis, financial analysis and recommendations).
By 90 Days
  • Assume responsibility for key deliverables (eg, QBRs and executive updates).
  • Begin executing on existing roadmap items, using your knowledge of our data and KPIs.
  • Deliver your analytical projects to our marketing leaders and help them operationalize behavioral changes that will make their team more successful.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in data-based marketing (including CRM and AI), with strong preference given to those who have done so in financial services or related industry.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze data with appropriate tools – proven analyst skills spanning business functions and applications
  • Strong experience with Salesforce FSC andMarketing Intelligence (formerly Datorama)is necessary; Salesforce certifications preferred
  • Solid understanding of CRM platforms & nCino are preferred
  • Expertise in scripting languages (such as SQL, SOQL, Python or R) and the tools (such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required to perform analysis.
  • Experience in developing visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc., and analytics/presentation.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to credibly challenge status quo; experience with continuous improvement of application control testing processes and results.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft product suite:
  • Excel—including building and manipulating pivot tables and additional Excel and Reporting duties, as required.
  • PowerPoint (including master slides, templates, etc.) to quickly produce sophisticated, clear and effective presentations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Interest in learning additional systems and software platforms including project management, bank core system software for report export and analysis, and accounting/CRM software, as needed.
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to think strategically and be willing to roll up your sleeves and work through details to ensure successful execution and follow-through. Experience with Workfront is a plus.
  • Experience managing budgets, P&Ls, etc.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel, including senior management to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ddemonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to plan and manage in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • May require travel throughout the Byline Bank franchise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office equipment. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices.
