Position Summary

This position holds two parallel responsibilities

The overall procurement responsibility for part of direct materials categories designated by internal organization of Direct materials and R&D department and:

additional responsibility to be Procurement Single Point of Contact for US with primary focus in beginning on Cleveland site and which includes both people management as well as understanding and alignment for technical and indirect spend categories.

Responsibilities In this position incumbent will have, in beginning, one person to manage. This person will be more focus to indirect and technical spend and collaborate with relevant category managers and will align with the manager US on priorities for the CLE and CHI site.

Global Category Manager is responsible for packaging materials globally, with the support of Global Category Manager Direct Materials and R&D, and is responsible for all direct materials and external analytical/quality control services needed for Xellia US operations, as follows:

  • Understand the direct materials segmented in details, i.e. from each the spend, suppliers, opportunities, risks, contracts, negotiations to improve relationships with suppliers;
  • Understand the stakeholder's needs and priorities;
  • Understand the Xellia global strategy and directions;
  • Ability to understand all needs of stakeholders for defined category globally and independently of territory.

Strategic Development
  • Understand the spend in detail under responsibility
  • Develop direct materials supply strategy in agreement with Global Category Sr. Manager and cover all categories under responsibility
  • Define initiatives for supply under responsibility which will assure the procurement strategy implementation (e.g. security of quality supply, improve total cost of ownership, improve supplier relationship program via contracts or separate agreements)

Systems and Processes
  • Use defined systems (e.g. E1, Halo, QMS, Palette, etc)
  • Define and/or revise SOPs, Working Instructions and templates relevant for managing directmaterials under responsibility
  • Act in line with defined processes and SOPs

Secure supply and improve OTIF (On Time In Full)
  • Act as escalation point and support in securing Xellia's supply of categories under responsibilityfor all stakeholders at any time
  • Contribute to maintain an OTIF in line with Xellia's defined target
  • Contribute in securing that GMP regulations are followed at any time whenever is requested
  • Keep focus on process standardization and continuous improvement within area orresponsibility

Suppliers
  • Identify and evaluate new potential suppliers in all areas of responsibility
  • Manage the approval process of new potential suppliers in all areas of responsibility
  • Negotiate and implement contracts with suppliers
  • Develop, together with other GP personnel and stakeholders, supplier management programsfor supplies of categories under responsibility and act accordingly

Cash flow and Savings
  • Initiate, manage and support local and global cost saving and efficiency projects
  • Manage spend and savings data and perform various analyses with proposed initiatives
  • Report savings and other relevant activities data on time in full
  • Strong focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

As Procurement Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for US

Note SPOC is parallel function to support Cleveland site mainly as well as Chicago office and it is newly defined with following responsibilities:

General Site coverage:
  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) of GP&ES for the site and provide necessary local support
  • Participate in Site Leadership Teams and act as procurement voice
  • Assist with culture change in response to One Xellia approach
  • (Monthly) Updates to site management regarding Procurement activity and project status
  • Regular participation in SLT meetings to provide status and escalation needs
  • Communicate internally within the GP&ES organization the key messages from site management teams as well as assure necessary follow ups
  • Work closely with other departments within Cleveland site and GP&ES to assure proper support

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree is required, masters preferred
  • 5 years of experience in procurement
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional and international teams
  • Strong Business acumen - ability to assess market/business requirements dynamics and negotiate agreements that yield meaningful business value
  • Previous people management skills required
