The role: Manager, Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics (Open to Location)

The opportunity:

Slalom Finance Technology is seeking an experienced leader for our Finance BI Team. This role will play a significant part in leading the team through a multi-year program from concept through to execution for our Finance & Accounting Teams. Your primary responsibilities include defining the scope for and ensuring the quality deliverables of the Finance BI team, working with Product Owners to organize and prioritize our product backlog, partnering with business stakeholders, coordinating with the wider Slalom BI community, individual development contributions, and leading the agile team. The BI Manager of FinTech will partner with key business and Finance and Accounting Partners to enact and influence Finance and Accounting data & analytics strategy. Our team primarily works remotely, using online collaboration tools to work together and stay connected. This role would similarly have the ability to be worked remotely, working core Pacific Time hours.

What you'll do:
  • Translate business requirements into well-architected, maintainable solutions that best meet the needs and desired outcomes of Accounting & Finance, and the overall business
  • Work with business units, and technical resources as necessary to achieve the appropriate and desired solution for the business.
  • Define and drive the definition of the teams' scope as it relates to Financial, and Operational reporting needs across the enterprise.
  • Participate in technical design sessions; develop technical solution documentation aligned with the business objectives
  • Write and implement test plans for all needed test cycles that ensure quality delivery
  • Be an active member of a growing team, follow and continually refine coding standards, best practices, and participate in code reviews
  • Actively participate in iterative proof of concept exercises to explore solution options
  • Provide estimates to implement solutions based on business requirements
  • Perform routine performance and salary reviews
  • Mentor and coach less experienced team members
  • Aid in job candidate interviews
  • Assess and create recommendations around future needs and capabilities of our systems and tools, including evaluation of patches and upgrades, as well as potential changes to our coding standards
What we'd like from you:
  • Proven experience leading a team to ensure quality work is being delivered on schedule.
  • Experience with data warehousing, BI, and reporting tools (i.e. Power BI, Oracle)
  • Expert-level knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform Suite
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to audiences of all business and technical levels
  • Experience with cloud architecture and complex data structures (Snowflake and Oracle)
