Kitsap Credit Union is hiring for a Full-Time, Non-Exempt Underwriter for our Indirect Lending Department, to work out of our Harborside location in beautiful Kitsap County. This position is responsible for Underwriting Indirect Loan Applications submitted by Dealerships and other Vendor Partners for current and new members. This position is hybrid eligible.

Typical Job Duties

• Ensure that all loan applications are reviewed for credit worthiness according to current credit union policy.
• Work with dealer and vendor partners to review complex loan applications while using sound judgment in decision-making and problem solving.
• Meet or exceed credit union objectives in terms of volume, credit quality, and loan exceptions.
• Effectively communicate loan decision details with dealer and vendor partners to include loan denial reasons, counteroffers, and underwriting stipulations.
• Ability to properly identify various documents for accurate income analysis, identity verification, and proof of residence.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality within the credit union relative to any information received directly or indirectly.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of lending experience with knowledge of applicable rules and regulations involved in the lending function required .

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Kitsap Credit Union requires new hires to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work.
