QC Lab Technician

Huntsman's Advanced Materials Division is now searching for a new QC Lab Technician for our manufacturing site located in Akron, OH.

As the QC Lab Technician, you will:

• Perform routine laboratory Quality Control functions, including wet chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis.
• Assist Chemists with data entry, housekeeping, waste management, inventory levels, equipment repair and maintenance, and reporting to production.
• Conform to safe laboratory practices in accordance with Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Plant requirements and regulations.
• Maintain working knowledge of testing procedures, protocols, and priorities for three production areas.
• Other duties as required.

Skills and experiences required:

• Associate degree in applied science or 3 years laboratory experience .
• Basic laboratory knowledge.
• Basic math skills.
• PC literacy.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be a self-starter with a "can-do attitude" that can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have a high degree of safety awareness in job approach and willingness to wear proper protective equipment as needed.
• Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends and be subject to last minute scheduling changes.
• Must be willing to accept overtime and be available for call-ins if necessary.
