Java Backend Engineer, Mid/Senior for NIH Health IT program
Location: DC metro area or remote
Period of performance: 100% ASAP
Key Role:
Join a software development program for NIH client efforts using Agile methodologies to support the design, development, and implementation of native and cloud-based components. Evaluate systems design and architecture concepts for development projects and analyze and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to the investigation and solution of software applications and problems. Support the management and deployment of applications in AWS cloud environments.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years with Java / J2EE Development (Preferably Java 7 and 8)
- Experience with Apache Maven 2.x and 3.x
- Struts 2.x Experience
- Experience developing with Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs)
- Experience developing Java Applications that read and write from RDBMS (Postgres preferred)
- BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications:
- 8+ years with Java 7/8
- Experience with Docker, AWS Lambda, and AWS ECS
- Experience with Python
- Public trust clearance with government agency
