Summary:
An HR (Human Resources) Manager is responsible for any planning regarding the human resources and development of a company's workforce, and they must be able to transform all policies into executable plans and departmental procedures. HR Managers contribute to a company's success by managing its employees, development, and work culture. They work closely with upper management to implement beneficial HR programs across departments.
What you'll be contributing:
- Recruits, interviews, hires and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Contribute to the formation of a key element of functional strategy through specialist expertise and insights, to ensure that the strategy meets business needs.
- Develop procedures and interprets and apply policy for the area of expertise to achieve specified outputs, or advise the wider business on the application of policy, then monitor implementation of those procedures within the organization
- Identify requirements for HR frameworks and tools within an important area of responsibility to meet business needs. Specify the design and manage development and implementation, ensuring compliance with external requirements and integration with the broader HR policy framework
- Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions
- Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.
- Develop and/or deliver budget plans with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Manage projects or substantial workstreams within a transformational change program, ensuring integration with related projects; use structured change management methodologies to build acceptance of change and to embed desired culture and behaviors
- Develop and propose own performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization's performance management systems to improve personal performance
- Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential
- Negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret labor contracts if necessary.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience in own area of expertise to a fully competent level. (6 or more years)
- Experience in planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers (3 or more years)
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly desired.
