Description: HEDIS Service Associate I - Montebello, CA market.

Overview:

  • HEDIS Associate supports site by answering phones, faxing, printing, scanning and doing other administrative work as needed.
  • Given LA geography, commute times and the location hours, ideal candidates are within close proximity to the location they will be based in.

SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for providing basic administrative and telephonic support for department working in a fast paced environment in order to meet deadlines within the project.
  • Candidate will work under the direction of the Lead to assist and fulfill requests by contacting and corresponding with provider practices.
  • A high degree of professionalism and team effort is expected to be maintained throughout the project.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working at a fast pace this candidate must maintain fax equipment, camera/scanner, retrieve previously scanned information, place telephone calls to provider offices, monitor fax process request records, oversee incoming and outgoing fax documents, copy, verify label, sort, prepare batches, retrieve information, file, type, collate, distribute; assemble and scan/upload documents. Candidates are also required to book appointments, verify information and communicate with provider offices efficiently and accurately.
  • Candidate shall schedule HEDIS office reviews, confirm next day appointments, verify addresses for fax and mail, and maintain tracking log and calendar.
  • Medical record confidentiality is maintained and records are stored in locked cabinets and retrieved as requested by staff and Auditors.
  • Candidate will be responsible to assist abstractors by utilizing research within the company's claim systems to locate where members received care.
  • Candidates under team direction are at times directed to call members inquiring about the provider of their care. A high degree of professional telephonic dialog is maintained.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires High School diploma and 6 months related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates who have familiarity with medical terminology, customer service, call center background and prior HEDIS experience would have priority for this position.
  • Candidates must have basic Excel skills and must have the ability to type 30-40 WPM.
  • Needs reliable transportation.

M-F, 8 AM - 5 PM
