Global Reliability and Asset Manager

Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking an Global Reliability and Asset Manager in our Columbus, Ohio location. This position will
provide strategic leadership for maintenance, reliability, and asset management processes and teams globally to increase efficiency, lower costs, improve quality, and reduce downtime of production and facility equipment.

Focus area for the Global Reliability and Asset Manager is to provide strong leadership and technical expertise by fostering a culture of learning, teamwork, continuous improvement, and innovation, working in partnership with the global affiliate locations and Global Plant Engineering (GPE).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering and/or Asset Management desired.
  • Minimum experience of five years in maintenance / technical engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Results driven individual with strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills desired to engage effectively and collaboratively across the organization to drive the best outcomes and achieve business objectives.
  • Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving skills with knowledge across maintenance, engineering, and operations, including:
    • Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
    • Risk Based Maintenance, Risk-Based Inspection, (RCM, RBI) methodologies.
    • Predictive Maintenance, Digitization and Automation methodologies and tools.
    • Lean Manufacturing
  • Capability to relate and connect the maintenance and reliability team to the business objectives of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead a multi-functional team and foster a proactive team environment.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL).
  • Willing to be a hands-on member of the maintenance team for the purposes of training and global support.
  • AutoCAD experience desired
  • Familiarity with SAP a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
Key Duties:
  • Establish leadership standards for the maintenance and reliability personnel globally, setting the strategy, developing team and leadership capabilities, coaching, and supporting maintenance leadership on budget management, and delivering continuous improvement in asset reliability.
  • Manage a matrix for the maintenance organization that includes skills development to provide improved reliability performance and service.
  • Develop and coordinate the strategies that accelerate and improve operations and maintenance practices to improve equipment performance, reliability, and lower maintenance costs.
  • Develop maintenance standards and identify and promote best practices in collaboration with the plant maintenance and operations teams with an emphasis on equipment criticality, equipment condition inspections, effective planning, and scheduling, completing high quality maintenance repairs, and safety, health & environmental policies, and procedures.
  • Work in partnership with the facility leadership to achieve facility objectives. Establish, provide governance, and ensure continuous improvement of reliability processes.
  • Provide technical ownership and leadership as Reliability and Maintenance SME for equipment for global projects.
  • Participate in the capital planning process. Recommend maintenance and sustaining capital budget, develop justifications for sustaining capital projects. Determine and track investments in reliability technology, systems, and methods to ensure maximum ROI.
  • Develop budget tracking tools and reporting in collaboration with IT and accounting to enable review of expenditures against forecasts to assure appropriate spending levels. Develop and champion the maintenance budget process and foster partnerships in the cross-functional accountability of adhering to budgetary objectives.
  • Support and drive the implementation of Digitization and Automation projects for predictive maintenance and condition monitoring. Identify opportunities to integrate hardware/sensors, software, and data acquisition tools to develop and manage IoT/Industry 4.0 applications for data analysis and performance improvements.
  • Together with the sites, take a lead to develop and set up KPI's to monitor asset health and develop and own a dashboard with the goal to provide continuous monitoring of asset health.
  • Analyze operational data and equipment performance history (OEE) to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics: unplanned downtime, PM compliance, schedule compliance, Mean-Time-Between-Failures, and maintenance costs.
  • Maintain excellent lines of communication with Maintenance, Production, other Allied departments, and our affiliates.
  • Support Allied's manufacturing operations around the world. Occasional travel to US or international locations may be required.
  • Independently maintain technical knowledge and remain current on emerging technologies.
