Your Role:

The Glass Tech 1 at MilliporeSigma in Bellefonte, PA completes a variety of manual tooling operations in the fabrication of glass fittings and related apparatus used in the manufacture of glass products under supervision. Specific job duties:

  • Receives and interprets work orders
  • Uses bench crossfire, torches, hand rollers and hand forming tools to form various shapes and configurations from glass tubing and rod
  • Assists in the instruction of co-workers when requested by the supervisor
  • Operates and maintains necessary tools, equipment and apparatus used in glasstooling parts production
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and well-organized work area
Physical Attributes:
  • May involve lifting of items that require moderate effort and standing or sitting for long periods of time
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Vision within normal limits
Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of glass working operations and techniques
  • Experience operating and maintaining related tools, equipment and apparatus used in glass tooling parts production
  • Ability to use considerable skill and judgment in hand glass fabrication techniques.
