Position Summary

The Federal Clinical Educator will be responsible for supporting the Federal Sales Team in increasing sales and market share at targeted Federal accounts through the ongoing product education of providers, staff, and patients.

Candidates for consideration must have strong teamwork capabilities, interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate activities with multiple entities. Ability to promote products to a wide range of providers to increase sales and utilization is a must. Candidates will be required to access and understand the complexities of the Federal Government markets including the VA and DoD, as well as possess the ability to work effectively within these systems as it relates to their specific policies and procedures. Developing and maintain relationships ranging from target account administrators, pharmacy staff, P&T representatives, contracting officers and policy makers in addition to all appropriate medical staff is required. Experience in Federal Government Healthcare Sales is highly preferred. Prior military experience is beneficial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Federal Business Managers to develop a strategic and tactical sales plan for Dexcom products across key Federal Accounts.
  • Support the education of Federal Accounts (providers, staff, and patients.)
  • Support the pursuit of Federal Account sales opportunities in the pharmacy channel.
  • Manage key decision makers in the Federal Marketplace and promote Dexcom products to related health care providers
  • Develop and deliver customized presentations to internal and external audiences to increase awareness of and support for our Federal sales initiatives and collaborations.
  • Facilitate and provide timely marketplace feedback to Dexcom management regarding customer business trends, industry issues and business opportunities.
  • Participate in dialogue with home office (marketing, training, regulatory, etc.) to provide up to date market intelligence.
  • Effectively support Federal Business Managers in achieving sales objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring district is committed to and conforms to the company quality systems procedures as documented.
  • Local and overnight travel (up to 75%).

Scope

  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation.
  • Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 8-12 years of related experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10+ years of clinical experience in diabetes management in or outside of the Federal Healthcare Space.
  • Experience with Diabetes Medications, Insulin Pumps, Continuous Glucose Monitors, and other Diabetes Technologies.
  • Knowledge of the issues, trends and needs of the various Federal customers
  • A comprehensive understanding of all Federal distribution channels
  • Successful experience with new product and expanded indication launches within the Federal channel
  • Demonstrated ability to work and integrate planning across functional areas
  • Successfully able to foster a vision and gain commitment from internal and external customers

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CDCES Credentials
  • Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy.

Travel Required:
  • 50-75%

Exempt Salary Details

The annual base salary range for this role is $87,000 to $145,000. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
