The pilot Bard Microcollege launched in Holyoke, Massachusetts in August 2016. Bard's partner for this first Microcollege is The Care Center, a community-based educational organization with a history of success in supporting young mothers to complete their high school equivalences and continue on to college. Bard Microcollege Holyoke students are now enrolled full-time and earning their associate degrees at The Care Center. Students take liberal arts coursework representative of the four academic divisions of the college-The Arts; Languages and Literature; Social Studies; and Science, Mathematics, and Computing.

Bard Microcollege Holyoke offers small, seminar-style courses taught in person at The Care Center and nearby Holyoke Library. Faculty are hired on a per-course basis; there are no full-time positions available. Following an academic semester calendar, each course meets twice a week for fifteen weeks during the fall or spring semester, or for a shorter term over the summer. Classes are held Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm.

For most but not all subject areas, Ph.D. or other terminal degree and college teaching experience is required.

To Apply
Faculty interested in teaching for Bard Microcollege Holyoke can apply by submitting a CV and a brief letter of interest that should include a list of courses taught and a note about which semester or semesters you are available. Please submit your application through Interfolio.com at: http://apply.interfolio.com/47960.
