The Enterprise Lead Agile Coach Manager will manage and support the HanesBrands agile operating model globally throughout the company's value streams. This role will be responsible for the management of the agile coaches and trainers responsible for the successful execution of all global business/technology agile teams, centers of excellence, as well as corporate teams. Working with multiple value streams and teams, this role will ensure the consistent implementation, use and training of agile methodologies to achieve the benefits of iterative and incremental software releases. This role works closely with the results management office, business process management, change management, and technology and business teams to drive agile operational maturity and in realizing the business outcomes identified and targeted. The Enterprise Lead Agile Coach Manager is responsible for the strategic and practical applications and review of Agile methods within the organization. This role will be responsible for identifying and making recommendations to improve overall organizational and business agility and defining new processes as necessary. This role will step in if/when needed as an Enterprise Agile Coach and can serve as a value stream coach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the area of responsibility; implementing and evolving policies and programs as necessary.
  • Oversees performance of team members; promotes the success of Agile expansion in the global organization through engaging leaders and stakeholders, managing the performance of the Agile Coaches and trainers plus creating and applying consistent standards
  • Manages, mentors and trains agile coaches and trainers
  • Guide, coach and train value streams and scrum teams on Agile/Scrum principles and practices
  • Leads the development of the agile training strategy and training and reference materials
  • Assess the maturity of the value streams and scrum team(s) and coach them to higher levels of maturity
  • Support agile coach and trainer onboarding and training including ownership of guidelines for transitioning agile coaches on and off Agile teams.
  • Establish and monitor metrics of success for agile coaches and agile training. Develop and implement mitigations to any off track metrics
  • Champion the implementation and use of team metrics and other objective measures to show the organization how to improve processes and increase productivity using lean-agile methods
  • Establish and implement metrics to measure business agility in terms of flow, product quality, and customer value
  • Coach senior management in agile practices to ensure adoption of best practices from top-down
  • Lead discussions and planning with key stakeholders and senior leadership in constructing the foundation necessary for transforming from a waterfall or partial scrum framework to an Agile framework
  • Effectively communicate agile principles, agile practices and the overall agile operating model across the organization
  • Create a continuous improvement culture and leverage continuous improvement feedback to help fine-tune and optimize processes for agility
  • Provide transparency to and relentlessly works with leadership to remove enterprise agility impediments
  • Understand the value of commitments made by the value stream and hold everyone accountable for their commitments, pace and quality
  • Key participant in all Value Stream and team agile ceremonies
  • Identify and correct behaviors that counter the Agile principles
  • Key contributor in developing and refining the agile playbook and training materials
  • Performs training (e.g., towards IT & business leadership, Product Owners) for agile teams, delivery leadership and executives
  • Proactively manage issues and mitigate risks
  • Identify potential people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate and address concerns
  • Mentor teams, work on projects independently, and participate as a team member
  • Provide leadership through hands on collaborative exercises/activities

Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of experience being Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Agile Trainer within large organizations or Fortune 500 companies
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility
  • Proven experience managing teams of coaches or scrum masters
  • Experience developing and delivering agile training; instructor led and video
  • BS/BA Degreepreferred
  • Advanced experience with a scaled Agile framework operating model
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization from individual teams to C-suite
  • Flexible; Adaptable self-starter who is skilled at creating structure in ambiguous environments
  • Expert knowledge of the business implications of an Agile transformation
  • Expert knowledge and proven experience in multiple agile delivery practices: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP and Lean
  • Expert skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Experience leading all Agile ceremonies including: program increment planning, sprint planning, demo, retrospective, and stand-up meetings
  • Able to proactively identify risks, and drive action to mitigate and resolve issue
  • ICP-ACC/CSM Certification or equivalent preferred
  • SAFe SPC Certification
  • Proven experience successfully following an agile framework (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.)
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Experience leading multiple teams
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with audiences of all levels
