Description of Position
Salary Range: $41,557 - $54,487
First Applicant Review:09/25/2021Closing Date:09/24/2021Position reopened on 10/13/2021New Closing Date: Until filledServes as primary contact for students through developmental, academic advising strategies to drive engagement and empower students to achieve their academic and career goals. This highly visible role is a key contributor in promoting and supporting student retention and completion college-wide through a range of counseling and support strategies. Builds formative relationships with students by interpreting information and clarifying procedures and academic requirements of specific programs and majors. This position facilitates student engagement in academic and career goal-setting, evaluating student success skills, providing non-academic resources, and advising students on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities offered at Yavapai College. This position reports directly to the Enrollment Advisor Coordinator.
ADVISOR DUTIES:
- Presentation skills, including conducting new student orientations, workshops, and training programs
- Experience working with community college students
- Advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments i.e. Microsoft Office Products and Banner
- Knowledge of Yavapai College degrees, certificates, and career pathways
- Knowledge of Arizona transfer articulation
- Experience delivering student services in an online format
- Professional experience in a community college/higher education work environment
