COVID Vaccination Requirement
Consistent with long-standing practices requiring health care workers to be vaccinated against serious infectious diseases for the safety of patients and staff, Centra will require COVID-19 vaccinations for all new and current employees and those who work in Centra facilities as a condition of their employment. If hired to work at Centra, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination or be willing to receive the vaccination. Medical and religions exemptions may be requested.
EMT administers life support care and transportation to patients in pre-hospital, intra-facility and inter-facility settings as authorized and directed by the Manager of Paramedicine Services and the Operational Medical Director. Performs care appropriate to the patient population served, within scope of practice, and meeting daily routine patient care needs. Always focused on quality of care and customer service
High school diploma or GED. 0-2 years as a certified EMT-Basic.
Virginia EMT certification.
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR.
VAVRS or VDFP EVOC. Class II
FEMA ICS 100, 200, and 700.
PHTLS within the first year of employment.
AMLS within the first year of employment.
Hazardous Materials Awareness required within the first year of employment.
Needs to be completed prior to the end of the orientation period and before being released to drive solo:
Transfer, Stair, and Gait Training
Fall prevention training
