LifeMoves and Operations-Food Services are seeking experienced individuals for the position of Driver, Food Rescue to perform a variety of work, which may include driving, receiving, inspecting, processing, and storing food, supplies, and equipment in the Food Service Warehouse; to load delivery vehicle and deliver food daily to designated sites; return to sites to pick up equipment and to do related work as required. The driver will also assist with placing vendor orders and will make sure that all Santa Clara County shelters have the food supplies that they need.

This position will cross train with food service operations and will assist with other operational functions as needed.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following

1. Loads a delivery vehicle with a variety of food, materials, and equipment.
2. Unload transport boxes; put away food in respective areas; keep boxes clean daily.
3. Ensure and report proper temperature of all refrigerators and freezers in the warehouse and report any deficiencies with the equipment to the cook.
4. Drive a delivery vehicle to deliver and pickup sites and loads and unloads the delivery vehicle in specified locations.
5. Receives, processes and stores warehouse supplies, materials, and equipment.
   Maintains a variety of warehouse and delivery related records.
6. Receives and processes delivery acknowledgement receipts. Operates a variety of warehouse equipment and hand truck.
7. Conducting warehouse inventory reviews and in maintaining inventory control procedures on a weekly basis.
8. In conjunction with the Cook order necessary donations, food & supplies to ensure the warehouse has the right amount of inventory ensuring we are not over purchasing.
9. Pull items from stock to fill orders for delivery to other sites as needed.
10. Maintains cleanliness and order of walk-in freezers, refrigerator, and warehouse. Manage and monitor the safe storage of all food products. FIFO (first products in are the first ones to go out.) Sort through food donations prior to stocking and storing items, and only keeping food that is safe in compliance with Food Safety.

Other Duties

1. Deliver Drivers are required to transport and deliver good between different locations. Types of products transported vary according to sites. They must drive company owned vehicles. These drivers are responsible for pulling items from stock rooms, loading them into the vehicle and then transporting that merchandise to the intended destination.
2. Clean van if time allows
3. Clean facilities including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing work areas such as floors, pantries and warehouse, and trucks; empty garbage cans.
4. Assist with supplies and deliveries including signing for, bringing in, and/or storing items.
5. Contribute to the food service team by cross training for all positions.
6. Attend and participate in trainings and other continuing education, career, and professional development opportunities.
7. Participate in general staff meetings, 1:1's and other meetings and events planned by the Food Services Manager.

Position Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Pass drug test
• Must have a current driver's license and proof of liability insurance
• Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Must be able to pass background check
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience as an effective team player
• Ability to lift 30 pounds safely and keep up with the physical demands of the job
