About This Job
The main purpose of this job is leading the development of and execute on the sales strategies for the organization for the Commercial Payments focus. Strategies will be built in conjunction with the overall goals of the Commercial Payments / Card Department to enhance Commerce Bank's profitability through building new relationships and enhancing current ones. Hire, lead and manage the activities of one or many Commercial Card Sales Teams which may have managers and individual contributors under their supervision. Number of employees can range from 2 to 10 focused solely in payments-related entities.
This position is responsible for meeting annual commercial card sales and Net Contribution goals while maintaining profit margins established in the annual business plan for each product line. Direct and utilize strategic selling and business development processes while maintaining an acceptable level of return. Position will assist in the sale of large, key opportunities and help marshal internal resources needed for team to be successful. Sales effort is targeted primarily at mid to large market corporate entities, who may or may not be in the Bank's core markets with the primary contact being the CFO, Controller or Accounts Payable Director/Manager.
Some leaders in this role may be focused on specific industry verticals like Insurance, Healthcare, Construction, Government, and others. Territory is Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Colorado. Candidates must be located within the territories supported.
